  • This Understanding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder workshop will provide participants with theories of the causes and criteria for diagnosis of ADHD based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM–5)
  • The ADHD Iceberg – what some people see and what they say about people with ADHD (above the water line) vs. what they do not see and may not understand (below the water line)
  • Similarities and differences between ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • 3 types of ADHD – ADHD Inattentive, ADHD Hyperactive and ADHD Combined
  • Analysis of Task Paralysis and Mental Paralysis, Sluggish Cognitive Tempo, Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, Time Blindness, Dyspraxia and challenges in Executive Functioning
  • Key regulating strategies with a focus on visual strategies and building routines as key tools in assisting with transitions
