About
- Self-Regulation is a process used for understanding and responding to stress in terms of managing our own behaviours, overwhelming emotions, sensory inputs, motivation, learning, and relationships — when we understand ourselves, we can then help others to self-regulate
- Stressors lead to various types of behaviours, and these behaviours are essentially communicating that there is a need that needs to be met – at biological, social, emotional and cognitive levels
- During social engagements, our fight or flight stress response kicks in – and in extreme circumstances, we can freeze, or possibly enter a state of dissociation
- Learning how to identify the R’s of Stress – Recognizing, Reframing, Reducing, Reflecting and Responding – and apply practical strategies to deal with the varying intensities of our stress
- Analyze how the different parts of our Triune Brain function, and how this relates to the differences between Learning Brain vs. Survival Brain
