Anti-Bullying for Staff, Students and Parents
It is estimated that 1 out of every 3 students will face being bullied in their school career, and less than half of those children who are the targets of bullies will tell an adult.
What You Will Learn
Children need to be encouraged to report bullying and be taught multiple strategies to make these reports. Adults must convey the message that they want to know about children’s experiences of being bullied, and that they will do what is necessary to assist in putting a stop to the bullying.

About
- As an educator, Synapspark owner Stephen Lister worked closely with officials in the Bermuda Ministry of Education and officials in the Bermuda Police Services to spearhead an anti-bullying program that focuses on different types of bullying (with a specific focus on cyberbullying), why some people bully others, who are the targets of bullies, how bystanders can have an impact on bullying and how adults can work together with children to put a stop to bullying incidents
- By sharing his own personal experiences of being severely bullied during his school years and how he dealt with these incidents, this will allow those who are being bullied to feel confident that there are strategies and supports available to help them
- Drawing on 25 years of working with children with special needs, Stephen brings his expertise to the issue of bullying; he has created a very engaging and thought-provoking presentation suitable for the largest school auditoriums, the smallest classrooms, or the virtual world
